Why it works

A person in motion stays in motion.

Most of us are not short of ideas. We are stuck. Light School gets you moving first, because once you are moving, everything else in life gets easier.

1 · Momentum

You feel different in ten minutes

Your first sitting is twenty-five quick challenges, each a little braver than the last. You finish it moving.

Someone giving a talk to a seated audience

2 · Courage

Fear gets smaller

One small brave step a day: the phone call, the question, the hello. You keep proving the fear wrong.

Someone juggling in a park

3 · Skill

You are always adding one

The world keeps changing. A person who learns something new every month is never left behind.

What you get

Everything a school should have taught you.

  • The whole person. Body, mind, hands, people, money, home. Not one narrow subject.
  • Real competence. Every ladder goes from your first try to the finished thing, one rung at a time.
  • Five minutes counts. One rung a day keeps you moving. More if you want it.
  • Two guides, out loud. Marcus Aurelius and Aurelia walk it with you and talk you through.
  • Do it with your child. Adults and children share one school, so you level up together.
  • The game never ends. No graduation and no last level. You keep getting better for the joy of it.

Picture it

A year from now, you could…

Someone giving a talk to a seated audience
Give a talk to thirty people, and enjoy it
A card trick for amazed friends
Do a card trick that makes a room gasp
Someone juggling in a park
Juggle three balls for two minutes
Two people laughing over coffee
Hold a conversation in another language
A roast dinner served to eight guests
Put a hot meal in front of eight people
A guitar by a fire, friends singing
Play a song everybody sings along to
Someone swimming in a calm sea
Swim fifty metres in the sea
A handstand on the grass
Stand on your hands

Every one of these is a ladder inside Light School. It starts with ten minutes.

For parents

Learn it with your child.

Your child watches what you do far more than what you say. In Light School you climb the same ladders side by side: juggling, swimming, cooking, speaking up. They see a grown-up who is still learning, and that becomes normal for them.

Where the idea comes from

School used to mean free time.

The Greek word scholē meant leisure: the hours a free person spent making themselves better. A small group of people in one city lived that way, and their ideas shaped the Western world for more than two thousand years.

We are asking you to be that for our generation.

Is it really free?

Yes. Light School is free.

How do I get it on my phone?

There is nothing to download from an app store. The first thing Light School shows you is how to put it on your home screen in two taps, so it opens like any other app.

How much time does it take?

About ten minutes the first time. After that, five minutes a day counts, and you can do more whenever you want.

Who is it for?

Adults, and children with a parent beside them. Everybody uses the same school and climbs at their own speed.

Give it ten minutes. Feel the difference.

Twenty-five quick challenges. By the last one, you are moving.

Free. Opens on your phone.
